Ochanya is the Director/Group Chief Risk Officer. She was the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for UP, and prior to joining the company in 2005, she was a Chief Superintendent of Narcotics and a Principal Staff Officer, Records Management (Intelligence), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. A Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP), she has been serving as a member of Visa Risk Executive Council for the Sub-Saharan Africa since 2012 .

Ochanya holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Jos; Post Graduate Diploma, Education & a Post Graduate Degree in Humanitarian and Refugee Law from the University of Lagos. She has attended several notable trainings within and outside the country including American Bankers Association, School of Bank Card Management, Emory University, Atlanta USA, the Metropolitan School of Business and Management, United Kingdom, IESE Business School, Barcelona, and Lagos Business School, Nigeria.
